PLANNING

Planning staff is responsible for the development, maintenance, revision, administration and enforcement of the County’s Comprehensive Plan and Subdivision Ordinance. Staff processes, analyzes, and formulates recommendations on current planning projects, as well as negotiates with applicants. Staff processes all subdivision, Rezoning, Special Exception, Preliminary Plat, and Comprehensive Plan Amendment applications. In addition, staff supports the Planning Commission, Transportation Committee, Architectural Review Board, and many ad-hoc community meetings and committees. Staff also provides support to the Board of Supervisors on planning-related items.

Assistance is provided to the public, government offices, and businesses for demographic information, historic resource preservation, transportation, planning for public facilities, and land use.
