Homework Help

  • Accelerated Reader Lists - Find your school's list here.
  • Reference Books and Other Materials - Some reference materials are available online, including Encyclopaedia Britannica for Kids and World Book Kids . Other materials are to be used in the library (the call number will start with JR) and are shelved in the reference area of the children's department. Ask the librarian for assistance.
  • Online Databases - Check out the library's online reference databases which include newspaper and magazine articles. Perfect for school reports!

  • The Exploratorium: The science museum in San Francisco mounts electronic versions of hands-on exhibits like the science of hockey, tracking severe storms, and how to dissect a cow's eye.
  • Franklin Institute Science Museum: A wealth of fun, educational and exciting information from the famed Philadelphia museum. Visit the online exhibits. Educational hotlists offer valuable homework connections. Check out the Kids Did This! Hotlist featuring the work of children in areas such as art, science and social studies.
